How Easy is the Striker in Bdo

Last updated: 13th June 2020

(Some parts of this guide, such as succession skill descriptions are skill under development and will be coming at a later date, you can easily find this information in-game)

Introduction

Remember that class guides are a rough explanation of the class, designed to give you an idea of the class and what you should be aiming for. You should really adapt the guide and follow your own instincts to match your play-style! I also highly recommend looking at as many different sources as possible and gathering as much information as you can about your class before deciding what is best for you and how you play. The class discords are a great place to start, most have their own guides and resources as well as plenty of skilled players willing to help with questions.

The Striker class uses Gauntlets as their primary weapon and Vambrace as their secondary weapon. At level 56, Striker unlocks their awakening weapon which is a Gardbrace and can summon clones of the Striker to deal damage alongside him. The Striker class uses melee range punches and kicks. He specializes in Martial Arts and has many complex combos that can deal a burst of damage in a short time, whilst also being a tanky class. The combos are designed to be very tricky and players may find Striker hard to master, but not too hard to pick up if you are a new player.

Striker is midtier or just above average in PvE with alright clear speed. They also rarely use potions when grinding as long as skills are rotated in the right order. Strikers do struggle in end-game grind spots though, such as Aakman and Hystria. Striker really excels in small scale and also very useful in node wars/siege under multiple roles, such as frontline, defense and flanking.

Check out the videos below to see some examples of Striker in action.

Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBI05THRXYM

PROS

  • High damage burst
  • Tanky class
  • Lots of CC chains
  • Short range mobility which is useful during PVP and PVE
  • Less pots needed for grinding
  • Adaptable to different Siege/Node war roles
  • Very strong in small scale PvP
  • 2nd grab skill (unprotected but still useful)

CONS

  • Slow/clunky animations, easy to predict movement
  • Lack of long range mobility making it hard to keep up with other classes
  • Complex combos
  • Hard to master
  • Low crit chance

Strong against:

Strikers are strong against most magic classes and glass cannons because of their high magic resist and burst damage. Dark Knights can also sometimes be tricky if they focus on kiting a Striker and poking at him over time without getting caught out, but it can be hard to pull off.

  • Witch
  • Wizard
  • Dark Knight
  • Sorceress

Weak against:

Weaker against melee damage classes with high mobility, burst and crowd control.

  • Musa
  • Maehwa
  • Valkyrie
  • Tamer
  • Ninja
  • Kunoichi

Succession

Striker Succession can be unlocked after level 56 after speaking to the Black Spirit and completing the Succession quest under the suggestions tab. This will give you a totally seperate skill tree that enhances your main hand skills and only has a few awakening skills. Your awakening weapon still effects your succession damage but is not as much of a priority. You can get away with using a Green/Blue grade TRI Ultimate weapon without losing too much damage. This is because only 30% of your Awakening AP is applied to the damage of Succession skills, as well as the additional item stats, such as Human/Species Damage and Accuracy.

Succession is considered better in general for PVE at end game. Like with most classes, succession pulls higher trash loot in end game spots. Succession for strikers removes the utility and defences that awakening provides but in turn has higher damage with smaller AoE skills which make them the same if not worse in large scale PVP.

In each section of the guide you can find additional information about succession skills.

Skills

Pre-Awakening skill build – Level 55 (583 skill points): https://bddatabase.net/us/skillcalc/158663/
If you've just reached level 50 or you're still leveling, use this build to put you in the right direction of what skills you should be using.

Make sure you reset your skills at level 56 though because you will need skill points for your awakening skills and will only really need the support skills from pre-awakening.

  • Keys in square brackets [] mean that you tap the key. For example, [Q] means you tap Q once.
  • Keys in round brackets () mean that you hold the key. For example, (HOLD Q) means you hold Q until the next step. (PERMAHOLD Q) means you hold Q throughout the combo.
  • Keys separated by a "+" symbol should be used at the same time. For example, [Q] + [LMB] means you tap Q and LMB at the same time.
  • Keys separated by a ">" symbol show the order you should follow out the steps. For example, [Q] + [LMB] > [F] means you tap Q and LMB at the same time, then tap F
  • [LMB] refers to left-clicking with your mouse, [RMB] refers to right-clicking with your mouse.
  • Red skill names are optional.
  • Blue skill names are awakening skills (level 56+).

GENERAL

Heavy Fist
[LMB]

This skill is automatically skilled into when you level up and is your auto attack.
iconMartial Spirit
Quick Slot

Martial Spirit is a passive which enables the use of Martial Spirit Shards. These are absorbed automatically when you use a skill and will enhance the skill. You can also consume Martial Spirit Shards to use Flash Step when it is on cooldown without using stamina.

iconHowling Wolf

Passive

Howling Wolf is a passive which gives you All Evasion Rate +10%.

iconMassive Supression

[E]

This skill is your grab from non-awakening. It's an important skill to have but it is totally up to your playstyle how many levels you put into it. Putting more levels into Massive Supression will make your grab last longer, but it has very little damage and can sometimes give your enemy a chance to use potion and heal if you are on your own. You can cancel it by holding [RMB] but it's totally up to your preference and how you play. If you want to go for a defensive build and will be fighting in mass PVP, then taking all 3 levels of the skill will be useful for locking down targets while your team deals damage.

iconMountain Aura

Passive

Mountain Aura is your passive. It gives a mixture of Ranged DP/Melee DP/Magic DP/All DP when you level it up, giving a total of around 8 extra DP. You should only level this up when you have your main build and have spare skill points because it takes a lot ot level it up for a small DP increase.

Awakening: Enlightened Gardbrace
[C]

This skill is taken automatically and allows you to swap between your main hand and awakening weapon.

Descent of Fury
[SHIFT] + [E]

This skill is your awakening buff (e buff), it is taken automatically and can be used every 3 minutes to give you a 30 second buff, All DP +50, Attack Speed +30% and All Resistance +30%. The skill will also instantly recover 500 HP and has super armor when being used. You should use your awakening buff just before you engage in PVP, or as often as possible when grinding for the attack speed bonus.

icon Hell Break
[E]

This is your awakening grab and your 2nd grab skill. You can use [E] whilst the skill is on cooldown and it will automatically switch you to non-awakening and use your non-awakening grab skill. I would recommend you to consider locking the skill and putting the skill on your hotbar to avoid conflicts with Massive Suppression. The awakening version of the skill also doesn't have super armor on it so it can be riskier to use. It is also not as viable anymore due to the CC limit, but can be useful in some situations.

Gardbrace Training
[LMB]

This is your auto attack in awakening. I wouldn't recommend leveling it up unless you already have your full build and you have spare skill points because it requires a lot of skill points and is rarely used.

MOBILITY

Evasion
(HOLD SHIFT) + [A] OR [S] OR [D]

This skill is your roll. You can roll to the sides or backwards. You can also double tap [W] to roll forwards, or double tap in any other direction. You should definately lock this skill because if you use it in PVP by accident then it can make you vulnerable.

iconFlash Step

(HOLD SHIFT) + [W] OR [S]

This skill makes you invinsible while using the skill and is one of your main iframes. It also gives a 30% movment speed buff for 10 seconds and is a must have skill.

iconSilent Step

(HOLD SHIFT) + [A] OR [D]

This skill makes you invincible while using the skill and is one of your main iframes. It also gives a 30% movment speed buff for 10 seconds and is a must have skill.

iconAdamantine
[RMB]

The skill has forward guard and will also inflict stiffness on your target and recover a lot of WP. It also has quite a bit of range compared to your other skills and can be combo'd with Flash Step to cast it backwards. However, this skill has a slow animation and its extending skills have no protection. The skill also has low damage and is simply not needed because Striker can easily rotate Super Armor with other skills so Forward Guard is a risky skill to use in comparison against some classes. In some situations (such as against a Ranger or Archer in 1v1), rotating Super Armor can be useless because they will just burst you down, and Adamantine will be useful to use to block that incoming damage. Some players recommend locking this skill but it is completely up to you.

Flow: Mass Destruction
[RMB]

Flow: Mass Destruction has super armor and no collision on it's short range evade which is really useful for getting behind your target to stun them.

icon Knee Hammer
[SHIFT] + [LMB]

This skill is a really good skill for leveling and also very useful once you have your awakening. You can use the skill whilst in your awakening by using [SHIFT] + [C], making it an excellent skill for chaining combos. Knee Hammer also has a stiffness CC, which is the reason this skill is used. You can also combo this skill easily with other skills such as Hidden Claw and Flow: Savage Fang, just by holding [SHIFT] + [LMB]. The other flow skills, Flow: Rock Smash and Flow: Tornado Kick are useful for leveling but afterward you get your awakening you will want to lock those skills.

Stalking Wolf is another of the flow skills which is useful. The skill add-ons on Stalking Wolf are also really good for PVE, but the skill isn't really used often for PVP because it doesn't have any defenses on it. Stalking Wolf will teleport you to your target which is useful for chasing down low HP enemies since you don't have that much mobility, but if someone is expecting you to chase them then you can easily be stunned.

icon Double Flash
Procceding Skill: [Flash Step III]

Double Flash requires Flash Step III from your pre-awakening and the skill must be maxed out. This skill will give you 3 dashes of Flash Step instead of just 1, which is a lot more mobility. The skill has super armor on it when it is used.

icon Ferocious Assault
[W] + [RMB]

Ferocious Assault is a stort ranged jump which will heal you and give you super armor as well. It is useful for closing the gap between you and your enemy.

DAMAGE

icon
Crouching Wolf

[SPACE] while using certain skills

Crouching Wolf is an important skill and you should make sure that you also take the Flow: Prey Hunt as well. The skill gives you an Attack Speed buff (+10%) for 10 seconds and a greater buff if you have 30 Martial Spirit Shards (+20%). The skill also has super armor on it and is an excellent skill used for chaining Super Armor. I would recommend putting this skill on your hotbar so you can use it to instantly switch to nonawakening.

iconTriple Flying Kick

[LMB] + [A] OR [D]

This skill is particularly useful for its buffs. It isn't mandatory and you should leave it at level 1 until you have the rest of your skill build first (including awakening). It gives an Evasion Rate buff increase and also an AP +10 buff at level 4, which is useful for buffing up before a fight.

iconHidden Claw

[S] + [LMB]

This skill is simply not used in PVE or PVP because of its lackluster damage. It has invincible when moving backwards but the iframe is just not long enough and the rest of the animation will leave you vulnerable.

icon Crimson Fang
[SHIFT] + [RMB]

This skill is one that you should proritize for leveling and you will mostly use this skill and all of it's extensions/combos up until level 56. It also has a forward guard and is one of your only skills with stiffness, so you can rotate the CC effects with your other skills. Flow: Deathstrike also has a strong DP debuff which you can quickly combo straight out of your awakening.

icon Wolf's Hunger
[SHIFT] + [F]

This skill is your 100% Black Spirit Rage skill which adds extra damage to the skill. Some players really like this skill, but the problem with it is that if you are fighting a group of players, it randomly teleports you between them and can put you in vulnerable positions. The skill does has invinciblility but only while you are teleporting and not when you are attacking, meaning that if someone times their skills well, you are left completely defenseless. Be careful when you are using this skill in mass PVP.

icon
Somersault

[S] + [Q]

This skill is not very useful for PVE or PVP because it has no protection on it. I would advise locking this skill to avoid potential conflicts with other skills.

iconTwisted Collision

[Q]

This skill is very useful in PVP and has forward guard on it as well as a floating CC effect. The skill can be used on cooldown but forward guard is not used if the skill is on cooldown, so I recommend putting this skill on your UI as a skill cooldown slot so you can keep track of it easier. Flow: Nimbus Strike is also really useful for chasing your enemies and catching them by surprise because it has Super Armor on it and bound CC. You can use your grab [E] straight afterwards as well, making it really powerful in PVP.

iconRoaring Tiger

[LMB] + [RMB]

This skill is definately worth taking and is a must have skill. It recovers your HP and has a lot of damage as well as Down Attack, Down Smash and Air Smash. It's a good skill for chaining combos and the HP recovery can be used at any time without needing a target. The skill doesn't have any protection however, so you should use it wisely when the target is already CC'd.

iconWolf's Fang (Optional)
[S] + [LMB] + [RMB]

This skill is completely optional. It has decent damage and a stun on good hits as well as forward guard. However, it is simply not needed because Striker can easily rotate Super Armor with other skills so Forward Guard is a risky skill to use in comparison against some classes. In some situations (such as against a Ranger or Archer in 1v1), rotating Super Armor can be useless because they will just burst you down, and Wolf's Fang will be useful to use to block that incoming damage.

icon Rage Hammer

[SHIFT] + [Q]

Rage Hammer is your 200% Black Spirit Rage skill and a good skill for PVE especially when leveling to 56. It pulls your enemies towards you and also has super armor, making it great for gathering monsters. It is also great to use in PVP due to it having a 3 second lingering super armor. You can trigger this by tapping [SHIFT] + [Q] then stand still and don't do anything for 3 seconds.

icon Endless Fight

Hold [SPACE] while using Crouching Wolf or Sprial Cannon

This skill can be used straight after Crouching Wolf to switch straight into awakening, or if you are already in awakening it can be used straight after Spiral Cannon as well by holding [SPACE]. It has a stiffness and stun effect on hit.

Ultimate Crush (Optional)
[SHIFT] + [LMB]

This skill is completely optional and I would only recommend putting skill points into it once you already have your core build. The skill has no protection on it and is only really useful as an extra skill in PVE. It has a DP -10 debuff on it, floating CC and recovers WP, but is simply too risky to use in PVP. The skill is also your 25% Black Spirit Rage skill, which adds a knockdown CC and extra damage.

icon Infernal Destruction

[F]

This skill is a high damage skill that is useful in PVE but can sometimes mess up your combo in PVP if you hold F for too long on Skull Crusher and Flow: Skull Hammer. The skill does not have any protection on it though. You may want to lock the skill for PVP then use it from your skill bar.

icon Skull Crusher

[SHIFT] + [F]

This skill is really important and a must have skill. It is one of your best skills for damage in awakening and also has a great Movement Speed debuff for your enemy and also gives you an Attack Speed buff and Accuracy Rate buff. The skill also has Super Armor and the add-ons for this skill are also really good, especially the 20% critical add-on because you then have a 70% total chance of crit with this skill. I would also recommend putting the skill on your hotbar so you can use it to instantly switch to awakening and use the skill. You can still use [F] afterwards to cast Flow: Skull Hammer.

icon Flow: Skull Hammer
[F] while maintaining Skull Crusher

This skill is your flow skill from Skull Crusher. It deals the damage of Skull Crusher x4 and has really good range as well as Super Armor.

icon Spiral Cannon
[SHIFT] + [LMB]

This skill has a small HP regeneration and you can use Endless Fight after it as well. The skill has a downsmash, but be careful when using it because the skill does not have any protection on it at all.

icon Endless Explosion

[SHIFT] + [RMB]

Endless Explosion is another important must have skill which is useful for both PVE and PVP with insane damage and down smash.

icon Rampaging Predator
[W] + [F]

This skill is your 200% Black Spirit Rage skill which adds extra damage to a high damage skill. It will deal damage a lot of damage to enemies and also teleports you towards them as well as having forward guard, bleeding damage and a stun.

icon Fallout
[RMB]

This skill has low damage and no protection so it is simply useless in both PVE and PVP.

icon Flow: Crosswind
[SPACE] when using Spiral Cannon

This skill is the flow skill from Spiral Cannon and will make you jump backwards. You can turn your camera as you use the skill to change the direction you will jump in. The skill has no protection and a very long animation so it is simply not useful for PVP and not worth putting points into.

icon Echo Spirit
[SHIFT] + [Q]

This skill is your 100% Black Spirit Rage skill. It is a good skill that will teleport you behind your target and also has 100% accuracy on your clone damage, which is insane damage when you go for a full AP build. The skill also has super armor and invinsible when using the skill/teleporting. You may want to lock your 100% rage for this skill because the 100% rage version can potentially mess up your combo.

icon Flow: Bite Off
Hold [F] while using Rampaging Predator

Bite Off is a great skill that can be used with Rampaging Predator. If you position yourself well then the clone will spawn behind your enemy and deal a lot of damage. It also heals you for 300 HP and has forward guard.

Skill Combos

The following skill combos are basic combos/cancels and some additional tips/tricks for your class. I recommend using video guides to learn more complex skill combos, because it is much easier to see exactly what you should be doing, rather than reading it and trying to wrap your head around it all. There are some recommended skill combo videos in the Useful Links section and the end of the guide!

Locked Skills

These are the skills I recommend locking to help prevent messing up combos during PVP:
Evasion, Taeback Kick, Flow: Tornado Kick, Somersault, Flow: Bombardment.

icon icon icon icon
To lock a skill, press the lock icon on the top of each skill icon in the skill window (K).

Absolute Skills

Below are the recommended Absolute Skills you should take:

Rabam Skills

Level 56
Rising Wolf Fang – Requires [Flow: Mass Destruction] and [Wolf's Fang V]
Flow: Back Step – Requires [Flow: Mass Destruction] and [Flash Step III] (Preferred Choice)

Flow: Back Step is simply the better choice out of the two due to it being an additional i-frame as well as a movement speed +30% and Magic DP 15 buff (for 10 sec).

Level 57
Iron Fist Fury – Requires [Fist of True Strength III] and [Fist Fury IV]
Perfect Blow Requires [Fist of True Strength III] and [Knee Hammer III]

Both of the Rabam skills have different advantages and I would personally try out both and see which fits your playstyle better. Iron Fist Fury is the safer option and if you're not sure which to pick, I would probably go for this one. It has super armor and healing on the skill. Perfect Blow has a frontal guard and a slight forward lunge. The skill deals quite a bit more damage than Iron Fist Fury so it's really up to you if you want damage or defense.

Skill Add-ons

Below are some examples of viable skill add-ons you can take. I recommend experimenting with your add-ons and figuring out what is best for you, because it really depends on your personal preference and how you play your class. Weapons/Armor

The best weapons in the game are currently dropped from World Bosses.
For more information on this click here to view our World Bosses guide.

Primary Weapons:

icon Rosar Gauntlet
The Rosar Gauntlet is what you should be aiming for to level your character. You should enhance it to at least +7 for leveling and then PRI or higher as soon as possible if you don't have Liverto/Kzarka. Aim to buy a +15 Rosar Gauntlet if you can to save your enhancing resources. Ideally you will want to buy or make it ultimate (yellow) to close the AP difference as well. Make sure you also make use of the gem slots to get your Attack Speed and Critical Hit up to 5.

Another alternative is the Styd Gauntlet for leveling if you are having trouble obtaining a Rosar Guantlet. This weapon can be bought from a Blacksmith and will give you 18 – 22 AP as well as a lot of accuracy.

icon Liverto Gaunlet
Liverto is the fourth strongest mainhand and much easier to obtain and enhance than Kzarka. I personally would not invest in a Liverto because it will just slow your progression. Go to a kzarka as early as possible. If you do already have liverto and have already invested into it, you will want to upgrade it to PRI or higher as soon as possible. I would recommend getting it to TRI at most and then you really want to switch to Kzarka. The liverto has slightly more AP than Rosar, but it also has a Critical Hit Rate +3 item effect.

icon Kzarka Gaunlet
Kzarka is the main weapon you will be using. It has the same AP as Liverto but more accuracy and an Attack Speed +3 item effect.

iconOffin Tett's Radiant Gauntlet
Offin Tett weapons are usually not worth investing in because of the loss in accuracy. It can help you push to the next AP bracket but at higher AP brackets the extra AP you get is smaller and you'll be losing hit chance % at the same time on both your preawakening and your awakening. So really you're actually losing damage overall since you won't be hitting the enemy as much (unless they are full DR). Offin Tett can be good when you reach certain AP brackets and if your class doesn't depend on accuracy as much as others, but if you're unsure whether you should be using this weapon or not, it's much safer to just use Kzarka.

icon Blackstar Gauntlet

Blackstar is considered the current best in slot mainhand weapon with higher base AP than Kzarka. It must be crafted using items in Star's End and then following a questline. The weapon is also harder to enhance so most players only switch to Blackstar once they already have TET Kzaraka and very high AP with no easier upgrades. It has a Damage to All Species +10 and Attack Speed +3 item effect, as well as other bonuses when enhanced. The weapon cannot be enhanced with Caphras stones though. Blackstar is considered best for PVE at endgame but eventually a PEN Kzarka will outscale.

Offhand Weapons:

iconLeather Vambrace
The Leather Vambrace is currently considered the best offhand to go with if you are a beginner, especially if you don't have Bheg's gloves or Liverto/Kzarka, because of it's accuracy. It is a good selection, especially for PvP orientated players and also offers a small amount of evasion and damage reduction. Unless you want to go for Full Evasion/Damage Reduction, then this is the offhand you should use. You should enhance it to at least +7 for leveling and then PRI or higher as soon as possible. Aim to buy a +15 if you can to save your enhancing resources. Ideally you will want to buy or make it ultimate (yellow) as well.

The Vambrace of Sealed Magical Power is freely obtainable from Black Spirit quests as well and a weaker version of Leather Vambrace. If you are new it may be worth checking if it is currently an upgrade, but eventually you will need Leather Vambrace anyway.

icon Rosar Vambrace

Rosar Vambrace is the best defensive build offhand if you want to go for Full DP tank build because it has extra AP and 2 crystal slots. This build is good for large scale PVP but not recommended for PVE unless against low evasion mobs or mobs you are much higher level than. It will give you a high amount of Evasion and a small amount of Damage Reduction and AP as well.

icon Kutum Vambrace
This offhand gives a mixture of AP and DP with added monster damage and accuracy. The Kutum weapons also have a 10% ignore resistance. The higher AP makes this weapon a best in slot for PVE and is also good for PVP in late game. When you are 261 (using Nouver) it is actually better to use Nouver in PVE as well because of the bonus AP given in the AP brackets. Once you reach over 261 AP (with Kutum) it is better to switch back to Kutum for PVE. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

It also has 2 crystal slots. The Kutum dagger can also be modified using an Inverted Hearth of Garmoth to give extra stats (Max HP +150, Max Stamina +100, Special Attack Evasion Rate +10%).

icon Nouver Vambrace
Nouver is currently considered the best in slot choice for PVP until you reach very high AP brackets. You should aim to have TRI gear before switching to this offhand. The offhand gives pure AP and an all resistance +10% item effect and can be modified using an Inverted Hearth of Garmoth to give extra stats (Max HP +150, Max Stamina +100, Special Attack Evasion Rate +10%).

When you are 261 (using Nouver) it is actually better to use Nouver in PVE as well because of the bonus AP given in the AP brackets. Once you reach over 261 AP (with Kutum) it is better to switch back to Kutum for PVE. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

Awakening Weapons: icon Iron Chain Gardbrace
This is a green grade weapon which is sold by some Blacksmith/Arms dealers. You will also receive a +10 Iron Chain Gardbrace when you complete your awakening quests. This gardbrace has lower AP than the other options but it is still viable for PvE due to it's Damage Against Every Species +5 item effect. It's also much cheaper to enhance and repair max durability than the other options so if you don't have a lot of money or participate in a lot of PvP, then this weapon is a good alternative until you get Dandelion.

icon Backflow Gardbrace
Backflow Gardbrace is a blue grade weapon which is given to you when you complete the awakening quests. The only ways to obtain this gardbrace is through the quest or night vendor. This makes is hard to obtain and it can be more expensive to repair. The gardbrace is good for PvP and has higher AP than the Iron Chain Gardbrace. It also has a Damage Against Human +7 item effect which is good for PVP.

icon Dragon Slayer Gardbrace
Dragon Slayer weapons are very comparable to the Dandelion weapons with their stats. They have slightly less AP but are much cheaper to repair and much less hassle. However, the Dragon Slayer weapons cannot be placed on the marketplace and must be crafted by the player themselves.

icon Dandelion Gardbrace
Dandelion weapons are the BiS awakening weapons. It has much higher AP but it is only obtainable from a Dandelion Weapon Box (Karanda world boss loot) or from the night vendor.

Armor:

The best armor in the game is currently dropped from Bosses. You will want to aim to get the boots and gloves first.

icon Griffon's Helmet (helmet) – dropped from Griffons in Kamaslyvia.
icon Dim Tree Spirit's Armor (chest) – dropped from Dim Tree Spirit.
icon Bheg's Gloves (gloves) dropped from Bheg.
icon Urugon's Shoes (shoes) – dropped from Urugon (Gaifinrasia Raid Captain Scroll).

icon Giath's Helmet (helmet) alternative choice – dropped from Giath.
icon Muskan's Shoes (shoes) alternative choice – dropped from Monastery Leader.

The best in slot armor for Striker is Griffon's Helmet, Dim Tree Spirit's Armor, Bheg's Gloves and Urugon's Shoes.

The full set will give you Maximum MP/WP/SP +100, Maximum HP +200, Max Stamina +200, Attack Speed +1, Casting Speed +1, Movement Speed +1 and All Resistances 5%. You will also get higher Accuracy, Evasion and Damage Reduction from these pieces.

In the mean time you should be using one of the following armor sets:

A popular armor choice is to go full Grunil set because it increases your maximum HP and will give you 2 socket slots on each piece, along with extra AP +7 set bonus. Another advantage of using this set is that it is viable on any class, allowing you to swap to another class easily.

Full Heve set is also a very popular choice and what I recommend for new players because it has an easier transition to boss gear whilst. As soon as you get one boss item with Grunil, you lose the set bonuses which Grunil weaker.

Another alternative is to use is the Akum set. It has comparable stats to boss armor and also a very useful set effect that gives Damage Reduction and Hidden AP. If you are unable to get boss armor, then the Akum set is a good cheap alternative that will be good for both PVP and PV. Investing in this set may slow you down in your progression towards softcap, but is much cheaper once you factor in repairing and enhancing.

Accessories

There are a lot of choices available when it comes to accessories and it really depends on what you can get your hands on.

Earrings:

If available I recommend using the Asula's Crimon Eye Earrings (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 7 AP and also has very good set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares earrings for 2 AP and switch to Witch's Earring as soon as possible for the 5 AP.

You want to aim for DUO/TRI Witch's Earrings (9 AP/11 AP) before swapping to a DUO Tungrad Earrings (11 AP) because of the huge difference in cost. Tungrad Earrings are one of the best earrings you can get. The other alternative is Black Distortion Earrings which give the highest amount of AP (21 AP at PEN), but reduce your DP as well.

The Capotia Earring is also worth mentioning. It is available at level 62+ only but is a very good earring because of it's high AP. It makes a perfect backup for enhancing and is essentially a free TRI Tungrad Earring.

Rings:

If available I recommend using the Asula's Crimon Eye Ring (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 7 AP and 2 DP as well as damage reduction and strong set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares rings for 2 AP and switch to Mark of Shadow as soon as possible for the 5 AP.

Sahazad's Ring of Monarch is also available through the Valencia part I and II quests. It can't be enhanced but it is a good alternative until you can get Ring of Crescent Guardian or Mark of Shadow to PRI/DUO.

The current best in slot, is a Tungrad Ring.

The Capotia Ring is also worth mentioning. It is available at level 61+ only but is a very good ring because of it's high AP. It makes a perfect backup for enhancing and is essentially a free TRI Ring of Crescent Guardian.

Necklace:

If available I recommend using the Asula's Crimon Eye Necklace (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 11 AP and 3 DP as well as damage reduction and an amazing set bonus. Otherwise use Bares Necklace for 4 AP and enhance this to DUO/TRI for 8 AP/10 AP. Enhancing a Bares Necklace is much cheaper than using an un-enhanced BiS necklace. You then want to swap to a DUO Serap's or PRI Ogre/Tungrad.

The Manos Necklaces are also an alternative for PvP, if you don't have a DUO Seraps already, due to their item effects. I personally wouldn't bother with them though because you will want as much AP as possible.

Belt:

If available I recommend using the Asula's Crimon Eye Belt (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 6 AP and has amazing set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares Belt for 2 AP and swap to Tree Spirit Belt as soon as possible for more AP and high accuracy.

You want to aim for a PRI/DUO Tree Spirit Belt before swapping to DUO Basilisk's because it is much cheaper and easier to get hold of. Basilisk's Belt and Valtarra are very good belts but Tungrade is currently the best in slot.

Example Gear Builds

I highly recommend using BDOPLANNER.COM to help you plan your build and track your progression.

The build you choose completely depends on your playstyle and what role you want to play in PVP. Below are some example builds to help you decide what is best for you.

Leveling build: link

Here is what to aim for when leveling and before you get your boss gear. You should focus on enhancing your weapons first and then your armor. Try to also ultimate all your pieces as soon as possible, especially your armor because it will give quite a big DP boost.

Low-Tier build: link
Here is a low-tier build to use if you are looking to improve your gear before you get boss gear. You may want to use Red Coral Earrings or Witch's Earrings instead but they can be quite expensive compared to the rest of the gear.

Mid-tier build: link

Here is a mid-tier build to use once you have boss gear. You want to aim to get TRI as soon as possible and then work on your accessories. You want to try to make sure you have a minimum of 300 accuracy when using Nouver. You can also use a TET heve and TRI Muskan's shoes instead but Griffon's and Urugon's shoes are currently considered best in slot in the gear meta.

Softcap build: link
Here is what to aim for if you are going for. It takes a long time to get to this stage, and there are lots of small improvements and other accessories you will use along the way, but this is ideally your softcap build for PVP.

For PVE, you want to be using a Kutum with Corrupted Magic Crystals. Once you reach 261 AP with Nouver, you will want to stop using Kutum for PVE however, until you reach 265 AP with Kutum. After many tests, it is confirmed that Nouver performs better than Kutum in these brackets. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

You may also want to consider starting to put Caphras stones into your gear for bonus stats to help you get to the next AP bracket. Begin by getting level 4 in your main hand for the extra 4 AP. Then you will want to move on to putting level 2 into each armor piece before getting them all up to level 4 as well.

End-game build [FULL AP]: link
Here is what to eventually aim for. It takes a long time to get to this stage, and there are lots of small improvements and other accessories you will use along the way, but this is ideally your end game build for PVP. Make sure to put Caphras stones into your equipment for extra stats. You can also swap out both of the Black Magic Crystal – Precision for Crystal of Elkarr (best in slot) instead but these are very costly and harder to obtain.

For PVP, it really depends. If you are only doing tier 1 node wars for example, then it is better to stick with Kutum because the node is AP capped anyway and the extra DP can push you to a higher DP bracket.

End-game build [FULL DP]: link
Here is what to eventually aim for if you are going for a full DP build. It takes a long time to get to this stage, and this particular build uses items which are not included in the other builds, such as Rosar Vambraces, Heve Helmet and Heve Gloves. I would not recommend starting with this build, and only trying it out yourself when your other gear is at a high enhance (at least softcap). It is particularly good against classes which stack a lot of AP. For your accessories, you should prioritize Centaurus Belt, Bensho Necklace, Manos Earrings, and finally Cadry Rings last.

This build is full defense and perfect for defending your team. If you have glass cannon classes on your team, should as a Wizard, you should stay close to them and focus on protecting them. This build is mostly used for node wars and siege PVP.

Optional crystals:
Boots: Black Magic Crystal – Adamantine/Red Battlefield Crystal: Adamantine
Gloves: JIN Magic Crystal – Viper/Black Magic Crystal – Sturdiness

Consumables

When grinding, I recommend using the Simple Cron Meal. It offers various bonuses and is also the only food which will give you an skill points experience buff. If the cron meal isn't available, you can use EXP Elixirs and Milk Tea, then other food of your choice such as Margoria Seafood and Serendia Special. It really depends on your preference.

For your food rotation in node wars/siege, I would recommend using Knight Combat Rations, Kamaslyvia Special, Valencia Special and then King of Jungle Hamburger in that order. This requires a 2 hour preperation. If you are late or lazy, you can use Exquisite Cron Meal. I would also recommend using the Giant's Draught or party elixirs.

The recipes for these are:

ICON RESULT INGREDIENTS USE
Knight Combat Rations Dark Pudding x1, Ham Sandwich x1, Fruit Wine x1, Meat Croquette x1 All Attack +5, Damage against human race +5, All Damage Reduction +5 for 120 minutes
icon Special Kamasylvia Meal Rainbow Button Mushroom Sandwich x1, Coconut Pasta x1, Fig Pie x1 , Fruit Wine x2, Rainbow Button Mushroom Cheese Melt x1 Max HP +150, Max Stamina 200, Back Attack Damage +5% for 110 minutes
Special Valencia Meal Teff Sandwich x1, King of Jungle Hamburger x1, Couscous x1, Fig Pie x2, Date Palm Wine x2 Nullifying all Resistances +4%, Resistance against all Debuffs +4%, All Evasion +10, Decrease of damages from Monsters -6% for 110 minutes
icon King of Jungle Hamburger Teff Bread x4, Pickled Vegetables x2, Lion Meat x4, Nutmeg x3 Ignores All Resistance +3%, Critical Hit Damage +5% for 110 minutes

In addition, you may want to use Perfume of Courage (buff lost on death) and Tough Whale Tendon Elixirs. Usually these are not required for node wars.

Other buffs you may want to collect can be found here: [link]
